Fíor is made in Ireland by one developer. If something is wrong, broken or confusing, mail allenjoshsamson99@gmail.com and you will get a reply from a person.

If you have a food allergy: always read the label on the pack. Fíor checks the database record, and that record can be incomplete or out of date. Fíor will never tell you a food is safe, because it cannot know that.

“Not on record” — the product wasn't found

Fíor looks products up in Open Food Facts, an open database filled in by volunteers. Irish own-brand and smaller producers are often missing. It is not a fault in the app, and Fíor says “not on record” rather than guessing.

You can add the product yourself at openfoodfacts.org — it takes a couple of minutes and it helps everyone who scans it next.

The health score is missing or says nothing is known

The score is built only from figures the producer has actually published. Where a record has no nutrition panel, Fíor shows no score instead of inventing one. The same applies to processing level and eco-score.

The origin says “check the pack itself”

This means the record holds no health mark, no establishment number and no origin field that Fíor can verify. Rather than guess from the brand, it points you at the oval mark on the pack, which is the reliable source.

The scanner won't read a barcode

Search isn't returning anything

Open Food Facts occasionally rate-limits or goes down. Fíor will say the database didn't answer rather than showing you an empty list, because “nothing found” and “we couldn't ask” are different things. Wait a minute and try again, or scan the barcode, which uses a more generous limit.

Deleting your data

Everything Fíor stores — your allergen list, saved products, history and the offline cache — is on your device only. Deleting the app removes all of it. In a browser, clear the site data for this site. Nothing is held on a server, so there is nothing to request or delete elsewhere.

Reporting wrong information

If a product record is wrong — wrong ingredients, wrong origin — the fix belongs in Open Food Facts, and correcting it there reaches every app that uses the database, not just this one.

If Fíor is reading a correct record wrongly, that is a bug and I want to know. Mail allenjoshsamson99@gmail.com with the barcode number and what you expected to see.
